ABOUT THE COURSE

Our Commercial Cookery Stream (CCS) package has been designed to the requirement of the Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training

Package (SIT). The Certificate III in Commercial Cookery + Certificate IV in Kitchen Management + Diploma of Hospitality Management program is an intensive and comprehensive course designed to equip students with essential knowledge, skills & competencies required to thrive in the dynamic field of commercial cookery and hospitality management.

 

This course combines practical training, theory and industry experience to prepare students for a successful career in the culinary and hospitality

Course entry requirements

  • Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement.
  • Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or PTE score of 4.2 or equivalent.

Additional entry requirements:

  • Student must have access to working PC or laptop with a configuration suitable to meet study requirements.
  • Student must have sound digital literacy and access to working internet.
  • All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLN test on the orientation day to assist AIA to identify students need for additional support during their study with AIA

Work Placement

Students must complete a minimum of 60complete service period (shifts) of 4 hours each or 30 complete service periods (shifts) of 8 hours each in hospitality workplace undertaking work task relevant to the unit content. Total minimum hours of work placement are 240. AIA will also consider student employment circumstance before allocating the shifts.

Assessment Methodology

Assessment methods used for this qualification are varied and will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that hey have met the required outcomes. Assessment methods may include: written questions, projects, presentations, report writing, role plays/observations, kitchen-based demonstration & work placement

Employment Pathways?

Once the student has completed the CSS package, they will have multiple careers outcomes such as, small business in hospitality industry, food business management, catering business, restaurants management, cook or chef in restaurants, cafes, pubs , clubs and many more.

Further Study Pathways

Students who complete the CSS package at AIA, can further pursue their study in SIT50322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality and can complete this qualification n 6 months.

*SIT50322 with reduced duration is subjected to successful completion of 104 weeks of CSS package at AIA

CCS package program is a comprehensive 104 weeks (2 years) designed to provide students
