We would like to inform you of recent updates issued by the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) regarding changes to English language requirements for international students in Australia. These changes aim to enhance the educational experience of international students and recent graduates, while also supporting Australia’s economic growth.
This article was originally published in March 2024 to help students understand announced changes to English language requirements for Australian student visa applications.
From 23 March 2024, the Department of Home Affairs announced updated English language requirements for Student visa applications, including changes to minimum English scores for many student visa applicants and packaged ELICOS arrangements.
Visa and English language requirements can change. Students should always check the current Department of Home Affairs website or seek advice from a registered migration agent before making visa-related decisions.
